ACTIVITIES UPDATES:

When ACTS 4:9 met for the first time, almost 1 ½ years ago – not as ACTS 4:9 but as a group of like minded people – we wanted to start something where we could BE community IN the community. An idea at that time was “a group that could provide a furnace to someone with no heat”.

This past winter, ACTS 4:9 not only provided one family with heat, but God blessed us with connections and resources to show our love to an additional family! Jim Weich, a Pastor from Faith Baptist in Napoleon (also a furnace guy) donated his labor, and Jeremy Mason from Able Heating & Cooling in Jerome worked with us on the second home.

We helped hang drywall and painted walls at Rick and Melanie’s home in February. They were scrambling to add an addition so a sick relative could move in.

We assisted Paul and his family in cleaning a septic tank. Sewage was seeping up in their yard and basement and they couldn’t find any assistance from anywhere else.

Sharon couldn’t afford gas in her car to pick up seven prescriptions that had been called in for her. It took less than one hour to pick up, deliver and spend some time talking with her.

For Easter, our kids hand decorated picture frames and inserted drawings and delivered them to Arbor North. We worked together with We Can Make A Difference House.

Habitat for Humanity is now starting to build so plan to join us –dates to be announced.

May 17th we are participating in our second year of planting flowers downtown Jackson.

Kids Explosion is a one hour program during free-lunch at 17 schools this summer. ACTS 4:9 is looking to volunteer one hour per week through out the summer. If you enjoy children – this will truly pull on your heart strings. Let us know if you would like to join us!

August 1st & 2nd is Relay for Life. Believe it when I say were are starting to form committees, so if you would like to be involved let us know.
