9-29-12: JACKSON INTERFAITH SHELTER

Preparations for food service at the homeless shelter began early.  We loaded a GFS shopping cart with about a hundred pounds of food.

Rather than cook the food in a cramped kitchen, we decided to prep the meat on our own grills and transport it to the shelter.  We prepped the remainder of the food there.

It was a humble, but very nice welcome.  The staff was phenomenal and extremely helpful to us.  They were quite a professional group.

In the kitchen, early stages of prep work and organization.

Our hambone baker!

We're thinkin' about adding more hair nets to our wardrobes.  By the way, are those cookies, or hockey pucks?

The dinner rush slowed up enough for a quick pic of the group serving food.

For our first attempt at this service project, things went rather smoothly.  Great experience!
